Ezra 7:10 is key verse of book. For Ezra had made his heart firm (established this as an ideal that he owns, which he has directed his life) to pursue in detailed study the Torah of the Lord (particualrly the Pentateuch) and to do it, and to teach statutes and rules in Israel.
