Wisdom Beyond His (Y)ears

While some children on the spectrum turn out to be more traditional savants, we discovered this weekend that E. (4) is a savant whose superpower is a providence sent to our family:  he reliably distinguishes between good and bad music. Upon hearing bad music, he immediately emits a constant loud tone that prevents human ears from being harmed until the offensive music ends. This weekend it was some excruciating (and unfortunately familiar) radio CCM; earlier it was Barney. Both were narrow escapes and we owe it all to E.  Move over Kim Peek.
